At London Metal Store, we stock stainless steel angle 304 in a range of sizes and lengths, available for delivery across the UK or Click and Collect from our London metal store.
What is Stainless Steel Angle?
Stainless steel angle, also referred to as stainless steel equal angle, is an L-shaped metal profile with two legs that meet at a 90-degree angle. The profile is measured by the width of each leg and the wall thickness, with all dimensions listed in metric on the product page.
Grade 304 is the most widely used grade of stainless steel. It is an iron-based alloy that contains chromium and nickel as its primary alloying elements, which give the material its corrosion resistance and protect it from rust and oxidisation without requiring surface treatment. Grade 304 performs well across a broad range of indoor and outdoor applications and is a practical choice for general construction, engineering applications, and general metalwork.
Stainless steel angle 304 is supplied in mill finish as standard and is easy to cut, weld, and machine to suit project requirements.
Sizes and Dimensions
Our stainless steel angle range comes in sizes from 20mm x 20mm up to 50mm x 50mm, including 25mm x 25mm, 30mm x 30mm, and 40mm x 40mm, all at 3mm wall thickness. Stock lengths are available in 2m and 3m, and custom lengths can be cut to suit your project requirements. All dimensions refer to the external leg width of the angle and are listed in millimetres on the product page.
If the stock size or length does not match what your project calls for, contact our sales team to discuss your specific dimensions or required length.
Mill Finish and Surface Options
Stainless steel angle 304 is supplied in mill finish as standard. Mill finish reflects the natural surface of the stainless steel profile straight from production and can be worked or further treated to achieve a specific surface finish.
Satin and bright polished finishes are available on selected stainless steel products, so get in touch with our sales team for further details on finish availability across the range.
Common Uses of Stainless Steel Angle
Stainless steel angle is commonly used across construction, engineering applications, and general metalwork. The profile is a popular choice for frames, brackets, and trim where both strength and corrosion resistance are part of the brief. The material cuts cleanly, is easy to weld and machine, and suits a wide range of indoor and outdoor projects.
The equal angle profile, where both legs are the same length, is the most widely used form of stainless steel angle and works well across fabrication, joinery, and commercial fit-out work.
If your project calls for an unequal angle, where the two legs differ in length, contact our sales team to discuss availability.
Properties of Stainless Steel Angle 304
Grade 304 is an iron-based alloy that contains chromium and nickel as its primary alloying elements. The chromium content forms a passive layer on the surface that protects the metal from rust, staining, and oxidation, and this layer repairs itself naturally if the surface is damaged.
The material offers good corrosion resistance across a broad range of environments, holds its appearance over time without surface treatment, and is easy to cut, weld, and machine on site. Grade 304 is not prone to corrosion in most indoor and outdoor conditions, which makes it a reliable and long-lasting choice for a wide range of applications across construction and engineering.
