Brass Products

At London Metal Store, we supply a wide range of brass products for decorative metalwork, interior fit-outs, furniture, and general construction.

Brass is a copper alloy made from copper and zinc. The material has low-friction properties and acoustic properties that make it popular for brass instruments. Brass is widely used as a decorative metal because it resembles gold and appears extensively in furniture, interior fit-outs, and point-of-sale displays. The metal is also germicidal and can kill microorganisms on contact.

Brass products are available in different sizes and finishes, with cut-to-size options for specific project requirements.

Orders can be placed online for delivery across the UK or Click & Collect from our London metal store.

Brass Sheet

We stock brass sheet in mill finish, with satin polished brass sheet and brass sheet bright polished options also available. Brass sheet is widely used for decorative panels, worktops, brass splashbacks, and architectural trim.

The material can be worked to produce mirror, brushed, or patinated finishes. We offer brass sheet cut to size to meet exact project dimensions.

Brass Splashback

Brass splashback is used for kitchen and commercial wall protection where a decorative finish is required. Over time, the brass develops a natural patina that changes its appearance.

Satin Polished Brass Sheet

Satin polished brass sheet provides a durable, low-maintenance finish that attracts fewer fingerprints and smudges. Because it resembles gold, brushed brass sheet metal is also commonly used for decorative purposes.

It is great for jewellery making, decorative applications, model making and brass worktops. In recent years, warm tones like brass, bronze and rose gold have become increasingly popular in home design.

Brass Sheet Bright Polished

Brass sheet bright polished offers a reflective, mirror-like finish suited to decorative projects and interior metalwork. Our brass sheets have great electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance attributes.

Round Bar Brass

Round bar brass is used in a wide variety of applications, including the manufacture and repair of gates, railings, fencing and for decorative purposes. Our brass rods can be supplied from as small as 3.2mm in diameter to larger diameters, giving our customers ample choice and options for their projects.

Flat Bar Brass

Flat bar brass is used in a variety of applications, including furniture and decorative purposes as well as high end interior fit outs. They are commonly used as brass inlays for joinery applications such as staircases.

Brass Square Bar

Brass square bar provides a uniform profile for frames, fasteners, and brass components. Brass square bars are commonly used in many commercial and industrial applications, including joinery, furniture and staircases.

Some additional uses of brass square bar include builders' hardware and plumbing fittings. They are produced to give good strength and corrosion resistance.

Brass Hexagon Bar

Brass hexagon bar is a composition of copper and zinc with a low melting point that can be worked with greater ease than other metals. It also serves very well for electrical and thermal conductivity.

The material is used for fasteners, fittings, and machined components where a hexagonal profile is required.

Angle Brass

Angle brass is one of the most versatile metalwork items available, with a host of applications across a wide variety of construction and metalworking.

Angle brass bars are as useful as they are unique. They are widely used in both fencing and farming, as well as on more urban projects.

Channel Brass

Channel brass is commonly used in many commercial and industrial applications. They are produced to give good strength and weldability.

They provide a unique high-end aesthetic look and can be welded or soldered to produce brass fabrications.  As a result, they can be tailored to a range of requirements.

Box Brass Section

The box brass section is used for furniture and high-end interior fit-outs. Brass can be welded or soldered and finished to a gold-like surface, which makes it popular for decorative projects.

Brass square sections are easy to drill and cut, which makes them a practical choice for commercial renovation work.

Brass Tube

Brass tube is lightweight and used for commercial applications, furniture manufacturing, and general metalworking projects. It is a composition of copper and zinc with a low melting point that can be worked with greater ease than other metals.

A brass tube also serves very well for electrical and thermal conductivity. The sizes shown represent the outside diameter, with wall thickness listed separately.

Brass Bright Polished Finger Plate

We stock brass bright polished finger plates for door protection in commercial buildings, retail spaces, and high-traffic areas. These brass fittings protect doors from marking and surface damage at push points.

They tend to be fitted in public areas where a high volume of people enter and exit, but they can be fitted for homes as well. Finger plates are useful for free-swinging doors. They have also proven very easy to clean due to their flat and smooth properties.

Brass Brushed Polished Kick Plate

Brass brushed polished kick plates protect doors at lower areas where contact occurs frequently. A kick plate is a piece of brass metal that allows people to open doors using their feet. This can be useful in instances where different materials are being handled so that the spread of germs can be prevented.

Kick plates have proven very cost-effective as it protects doors from experiencing damage or dirt, which prevents you from having to clean or repair doors. Kick plates with smooth and modern properties mean they are easy to clean.

Brass Finishes

Our standard finish across the brass range is mill finish, which can be worked to produce mirror, brushed, or patinated finishes. Satin brass finish provides a durable, low-maintenance option that attracts fewer fingerprints and smudges.

Brushed brass sheet comes with protective film that prevents surface damage during handling and installation. Once removed, the brass quickly acquires a natural patina. Please call our sales team for satin finish brass or mirror finish brass.

Brass Alloys and Properties

Brass production combines molten copper with zinc to produce brass with different physical properties and mechanical properties depending on zinc content. Producing brass creates copper alloys and molten metal forms for manufacturing processes across construction and metalworking.

Alpha brasses contain lower zinc content and can be worked cold. These brass alloys are ductile and malleable for cold working applications. Beta brasses have greater zinc content and require hot working at extreme temperatures. Alpha beta brasses combine both phases. Lead brasses contain lead to improve machinability and free-cutting characteristics.

Naval brasses and admiralty brasses are dezincification resistant copper alloys developed for marine environments and water systems. Duplex brasses and certain alloys offer unique properties. The range of brass alloys available supports selection based on corrosion resistance and intended use.

Brass resembles bronze, tin, and other metals but offers different properties. The material also contains variations with nickel, iron, aluminium, and silver for specific applications.

Brass Applications

Brass is used across construction, interior design, furniture manufacturing, and decorative metalwork. Common applications include door fittings, plumbing fittings, valves, fasteners, fixtures, fittings, electrical conductors, brass instruments, musical instruments, architectural trim, and point-of-sale displays.

The material combines corrosion resistance with an attractive appearance. Brass production combines copper and zinc to create copper alloys with different properties depending on zinc content. The range of brass alloys available supports material selection for different applications.
