At London Metal Store, we supply 316 grade dull polished stainless steel sheet in standard sheet sizes or cut to your required dimensions for marine, washroom, fabrication, architectural and general metalworking applications.

316 Dull Polished Stainless Steel Sheet

316 grade stainless steel is a highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel grade, particularly well suited to applications where the material may be exposed to moisture, salt or more demanding environments.

Compared with 304 stainless steel, grade 316 offers improved resistance to corrosion in many chloride-containing and marine environments.

This product is supplied with a dull polished finish, giving the sheet a clean, uniform brushed appearance with lower reflectivity than bright polished or mirror-finish stainless steel.

We stock 316 dull polished stainless steel sheet in a range of thicknesses and sizes. Sheets can also be cut to size to your required length and width, subject to available parent sheet dimensions, stock and cutting limitations.

Order online for UK delivery or select Click & Collect from London Metal Store.

316 Stainless Steel Properties

316 stainless steel offers a useful combination of corrosion resistance, strength and durability.

Key characteristics include:

  • Excellent corrosion resistance
  • Improved resistance to many chloride-containing environments compared with 304 stainless steel
  • Suitable for many marine and coastal applications
  • Durable and hard-wearing
  • Suitable for welding and fabrication
  • Good formability
  • Suitable for decorative and functional use

The exact performance of 316 stainless steel will depend on the application, environment and finish supplied.

Dull Polished Finish

The dull polished finish is produced by mechanical polishing, creating a fine, consistent grain across the surface.

This gives the sheet a professional brushed appearance with less reflectivity than bright polished or mirror-finish stainless steel.

Our 316 dull polished stainless steel sheet is supplied with protective plastic film on one side, where applicable to the selected stock specification.

The protective film helps reduce surface marking during handling, cutting and transport and should be removed after fabrication or installation as appropriate.

Minor variations in grain, appearance or surface finish may occur between batches.

If surface appearance is particularly important for your project, please contact our sales team before ordering to confirm the current stock specification.

316 Stainless Steel Sheet Cut to Size

Our cut-to-size stainless steel sheet service allows you to order 316 dull polished stainless steel sheet to your required length and width, subject to the dimensions of the available parent sheet and applicable cutting limitations.

Ordering stainless steel sheet cut to size can help:

  • Reduce material waste
  • Save fabrication time
  • Reduce additional cutting on site
  • Make smaller sections easier to handle
  • Provide material closer to your required dimensions

Additional fabrication services, including folding, may also be available depending on your requirements.

Please contact our team before ordering if additional processing is required.

Custom order notice: Please check your required dimensions carefully before placing a custom order. Cut-to-size, made-to-measure and specially processed products cannot normally be cancelled or returned once work has started, unless the goods are faulty, damaged, supplied incorrectly or not as described.

Common Uses of 316 Dull Polished Stainless Steel

316 dull polished stainless steel sheet is commonly used for:

  • Marine and coastal applications
  • Washrooms and wet environments
  • Commercial kitchen applications
  • Splashbacks and wall cladding
  • Architectural panels and trim
  • Food preparation areas
  • Equipment panels
  • General fabrication
  • Commercial and industrial interiors

Its improved corrosion resistance makes 316 stainless steel particularly useful where 304 stainless steel may not provide sufficient resistance to the surrounding environment.
